The new K2 Flight Station replaces the 1200 sf flight customer facility with a new 5,000 sf facility housing administrative offices, check in, flight following, a gift shop and waiting area. The new facility is designed to enhance the customers Alaska flight experience and has been designed in a prototypical lodge genre.
The lodge provides K2 guest with a warm, inviting and welcoming facility complete with exterior bathroom facilities, large gift shop and waiting area. The facility has a check in area with an expansive view of the flight apron where guests are checked in, weighed and given pre-flight instructions. In addition, a large deck is provided to allow customers to change into appropriate clothes for glacier landings and storage space to stash personal gear not taken on the flight.
